1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Salt to taste
Assembling
4 sandwich buns or brioche buns
4 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook slowly for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden brown.
Add the ground beef to the skillet with the onions. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess grease if needed.
Stir in garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
Spoon the beef mixture onto the buns and top each with a slice of cheese. Cover the skillet briefly or place under the broiler until the cheese melts.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot. Pair with fries, chips, or a simple salad.
