1 baguette, halved lengthwise
1/2 lb (225g) thinly sliced beef steak
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 small onion, sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup (115g) shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup (60g) provolone cheese, shredded
3 tbsp butter
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tsp parsley
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Hollow out some bread to make room for filling.
In a skillet, sauté onion and pepper in oil until soft. Add steak and cook until browned.
Mix butter, garlic, and parsley. Spread on bread halves.
Fill bread with steak mixture, top with cheeses.
Bake 10–12 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes:
Add mushrooms for an extra savory flavor.
